◆問うは一旦の恥、問わぬは末代の恥 Tou wa 1tan no haji, towanuwa matsudai no haji.

- Literal：To ask may be a moment's shame, but not to ask and to remain ignorant must be an everlasting shame.
- Interpretation：It is shameful only for a little while when asking it. However, it is shameful throughout life if it doesn't know.
- 類義：聞くは一時の恥、聞かぬは一生の恥。大知（たいち）は問うを好む。
